Welcome to my Dream Catcher Shop
My love and admiration of the American Indian Nations has drawn my interest to their legends and way of life from the time I was a child. Dream catchers, medicine wheels and many other items that represent the various Indian nations seem to be a part of who I am. The decision was made to take my love of this way of life a step further and create this website.
The Indian’s creation of such simple beauty and a simple way of life brings me much peace, calm and serenity. In today’s busy world the peaceful beauty and serenity is Spirit sent. I hope you enjoy the legends and stories I have chosen to share with you as well as the gifts that I love so much.
Dream catchers are an ancient spiritual tool used to help assure good dreams to those that sleep under them. A dream catcher is usually placed over a place you would sleep where the morning light can hit it. As you sleep all dreams from the spirit world have to pass through the dream catcher. Only good dreams can pass through the hole in the center while the bad dreams are caught in the webbing and are destroyed by the morning light.
Dream catchers can be traced back to the 1800’s, with unknown specific origins. The dream catcher is a tool used by various Native American Indian tribes to separate the bad, from the good. Hung above the bed, a dream catcher protects the sleeper from bad dreams and negative influences. In addition, some tribes believe that dream catchers also represent the circle of life. With birth starting at the outer rim, the web represents the cycles of life with old age returning a person back to an infant life state, completing the circle.
